Supporting Teachers in Cleveland County
Education is essential to unlocking a student’s potential and achieving financial success. However, for many families across Cleveland County the cost of buying school supplies can be a significant burden. The supply need for teacher’s educating our students is just as equally essential and can be a huge barrier for success in their daily work. Many teachers purchase items from their own personal pocket to stock in their classroom for their students who show up empty handed.

Stuff the Classroom is an initiative that United Way Cleveland County established in 2024 to mobilize the community in an effort to help bridge the gap for equitable access to education by providing the over 7,000 K-5 students in our 17 elementary schools with grade-appropriate supplies and critical resources for their teachers. We encourage anyone who can to help support this effort so that our teachers and students can focus on what really matters throughout the school year.

United Way Cleveland County staff will collect the supply boxes from each participating business, sort the items, and hand deliver the supplies to the schools this August.
